DaMarcus Nelson (b. 1996) is an African-American multidisciplinary designer, creative director, and multimedia producer whose work spans digital, analog, and physical mediums. While his creative capabilities are versatile, the consistent through line across his work is a commitment to creative excellence, craftsmanship, and integrity in execution.
DaMarcus traces the beginning of his creative journey to an autodidactic study of 35mm film photography, a hands-on medium that continues to shape his creative process. This early foundation in analog photography reflects the core values that define his design philosophy: technical precision, aesthetic clarity, and storytelling.
He studied Graphic Design at Cleveland State University (2016–2018) and continued his education in Advertising and Graphic Design at the Columbus College of Art & Design (2019–2020). His formal training in visual communication, brand strategy, and digital design deepened his multidisciplinary approach to contemporary design practice.
From 2018 to 2023, DaMarcus led KNOW iD, a solo-operated branding studio serving businesses and nonprofits through impactful identity systems, communications, and web design. He currently works as a Graphic Designer at the Center for Christian Virtue, the largest Christian policy organization in Ohio. Though no longer under the daily demands of entrepreneurship, DaMarcus continues to take on freelance projects that align with his values and allow for intentional, purpose-driven design. He envisions returning to business ownership in the future, building a creative studio rooted in Christian ministry, human connection, and a full-service craft approach.
Outside of design, DaMarcus explores creativity through woodworking and hands-on craftsmanship, bridging digital expertise with a love for analog processes. He lives in Ohio with his wife, Zari, and their three young children.
