DaMarcus Nelson (b. 1996) is an African-American multimedia designer, photographer, and artist whose work spans digital, analog, and physical mediums. While his creative capabilities are versatile, a consistent through line across every project is his commitment to creative excellence and integrity in execution.
DaMarcus traces the beginning of his creative journey to a deep passion for 35mm film photography. This hands-on medium continues to reflect his core creative values: technical precision, craftsmanship, and aesthetic clarity. That foundation—tactile and intuitive—continues to shape his multidisciplinary approach.
From 2018 to 2023, he led KNOW iD, a solo-operated branding studio serving businesses and nonprofits through impactful visual identity systems, communications, and web design. He currently works as a graphic designer at the Center for Christian Virtue, the largest Christian policy organization in Ohio. Though no longer under the daily pressures of entrepreneurship, DaMarcus continues to take on freelance projects that align with his values and allow space for intentional, purpose-driven design. He envisions returning to business ownership in the future—building a creative studio rooted in Christian ministry, human connection, and a niche full-service approach.
Outside of design, DaMarcus explores creativity through woodworking and other hands-on crafts—bridging digital expertise with a love for analog processes. He lives in Ohio with his wife, Zari, and their three young children.
